Meet Wayne Eng—serial entrepreneur, award-winning professional dancer, and founder of the dancesport industry’s leading educational programs and championship events.
After a successful 8-year professional dance career with his wife, Donna, Wayne retired from the competitive arena in 1990 to focus on family and his own independent studio, which had become one of the top in the nation since its start in 1983.
In 1992, Wayne’s passion for dancesport education grew beyond a single studio—he began his company, Dance Vision, with a goal to teach the world to dance. Since its establishment, Dance Vision has produced over 500 instructional videos with National and World Champions, and most recently, created the world’s first phone app dedicated to dancesport education.
To follow up, Dance Vision created the Dance Vision Syllabus in 2001 to educate professionals how to instruct students. It is now used by more than 400 independent dance studios world-wide, and recognized by the National Dance Council of America. Additionally, the Dance Vision American Style Syllabus is the official syllabus for certifying professional instructors by the Canadian Dancesport Federation.
Today, Wayne owns and operates a multitude of successful ventures within the world of dancesport, all the while, attending yoga, spending quality time with family, and dreaming up his next entrepreneurial pursuits. More about Wayne Eng at www.wikidancesport.com/wiki/26345/wayne-eng
