This is excellent instruction for beginning dancers to feel more comfortable on the dance floor. Demonstrations and instructions are very good. This is going to help hubby and I feel more confident in dancing.
Great production too.

Overall this series is the best of the 4-5 different beginners tapes/DVDs I have seen. The others I have seen are either outdated transfers from 15 years old VHS titles or have poor video quality, poor instruction etc. In two others that I have used, the general quality was good but not enough steps or variety were shown. When I finish a beginners video, I want to believe that I have enough dance skills that I can head out to a dance floor and not be bored after the first song. In the Anyone Can Dance series, 8-10 steps/moves are shown for each dance. In addition, tips on style and options are shown for most steps/variations. The video quality is clear and the instructors/instructions are clear and easy to follow. Each step is given first as a slow demonstration. Then it is shown as the mans part solo with steps, rhythm and footwork (ball of foot, heel, toe) etc. shown separately. This is then repeated for the woman's part. There is plenty of time in each to follow along and get the feel of each element. Finally the couple dance the step/s to music. This dancing to music only last for 2-3 repetitions and this, I feel, is not as long as I would like and it would be nice to be able to practice along for a while as soon as you have learned the step and not have to fumble taking the video out and finding a suitable music disk and putting it in. This is about my biggest beef and clearly it's not very big, just a minor annoyance since my DVD player is also my CD player. I would also have liked to see more about style and posture and more help in putting together a routine. These two admittedly small niggles are the only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating but not enough to stop me from getting 2 more titles from the Anyone can dance series.
Overall, highly recommended for those trying to learn without a teacher.
