Anna Mikhed

Anna started dancing at the age of 5 at her home city, Minsk Belarus. During her youth years she was multiple times National Champion of her country representing Belarus in a number of World Championships across the world.

After moving to the United States in 2000 and teaming up with the US National Amateur Champion Victor Fung in 2003, Anna became the Open Professional Rising Star Champion at her first UK and British Open Championships in 2004. Since then her career blossomed into a wonderful story of achievements. Runner-up at the US National Championships Anna and her partner represented America at the World Championships for 6 consecutive years and established herself as a consistent finalist in all four Major Ballroom Championships (UK, British Open, International and World Professional Standard).
As one of the most qualified and knowledgeable dancers in the world, Anna together with her partner were among lecturers at such prestigious dance events as “Bad Harzburg Dance Festival” in Germany, Embassy Ball in the United States, Blackpool Congress in England (those are some of the biggest Ballroom Dance congresses in the world greatly attended and widely distributed on DVDs across the world).

Anna’s style in choosing her ballroom gowns was impeccable. Greatly assisted by her dress sponsors Chrisanne, the largest ballroom dress making company in the world, Anna was the trendsetter and the example to follow by many dancers around the world.

Besides her competitions Anna and her partner have appeared twice as guest performers on the number one TV Show in America Dancing with the Stars sharing the stage with such outstanding artists as “Il Divo” and Queen Latifah.

Anna is internationally known for her work in Standard and Latin Ballroom Dancing, having coached and trained Amateur and Professional dancers across the U.S. as well as in Canada, Japan, Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, China, Germany, New Zealand and United Kingdom. In 2002 Anna was presented with the Top Teacher Award at the XXI GREAT RACE Sports Festival. Anna’s home base is Washington, DC. She is also coaching in various dance studios across America sharing her knowledge with students and colleagues who do not have chance to come and work with her in Washington DC.
