How can I avoid becoming bored and keep my dancing exciting for me?

No person should ever limit themselves to a single approach. Always maintain a desire to research and develop the dancing. There is always something more to do. The minute one is satisfied, the dancing becomes stagnant. A lot of times people say, “This (way of dancing) is not me.” Well, of course it’s not, because in all the years they were dancing they felt one way, but that doesn’t mean this new way doesn’t fit. It can become a part of them eventually. So why limit themselves simply because they don’t like the way it feels on this day? Go above your limitations. Keep striving for better things and don’t allow your dancing to be governed only by the immediate results.
